Unlike a few years ago there are now many numerous lighting choices available that can offer longer lifespans and great savings but these choices also offer large differences in light quality - many of which may not be suitable for your application.
Induction has been the best choice for High-bay lighting for the last 5 year s due to very it' s high qu ality light and extremely long lifespans. With the improvements in the development in LED lighting, LED's can now offer a great alternative, with can be better in a number of applications, which can be better in a number of applications.
ENERGY SAVING: The higher the Lumens/Watt the greater the savings. Induction lighting offers 80-90 Lumens/Watt, while NEW High-end LED lighting can offer 120-140 Lumens/Watt.
LIGHT QUALITY: Induction lighting not only has very high colour accuracy, with very high colour rendering (CRI>85) but also has very high effective Lumens (this is the amount of useful light measured by the eye or S/P Ratio). As a result the light is easy to look at and perform under. NEW LED High-end lighting can now also offer high colour quality with CRI values of about 80 but the light can still be a bit harsh to look at.
BEAM ANGLE: The correct beam angle, as well as high quality reflectors are extremely important in transmitting as much of the light generated correctly. For low ceiling up to 5m, 90° -100° beam angles wil be suitable, however, for higher ceilings, 60° beam angles are preferred.
LIFESPAN: Induction lighting is still the leader in this area with 75 000 -100 000 hours offering huge savings, not just in terms of the energy saved but also large maintenance and replacement costs. The NEW High-end LED lightng now offers genuine 60 000 hour lighting, with warranties that can even exceed Induction Lighting.
IP RATING: IP65 and higher ensures that the light fitting is sealed. This prevents the build of dust or dirt inside and provides a stronger more reliable fitting which protects it from the environment, thereby enabling it to be cleaned easier
